Black Friday and Buy Local or Bye Local.

Black Friday is the day of the year when big stores break even, and all sales in December are pure profit. There's no reason to shop at big stores! Here's the difference between the profits of corporations and the earnings for local makers and small businesses. Profit is the extra after expenses that goes to investors, shareholders, owners who did not work for that money. The profit is skimmed off wages in that sense. Small self-owned businesses and makers do not profit. We earn what is left over after all the expenses are paid. The landlords and suppliers, and utilities and help always get paid first. We get what's left over. It's not profit, it's earnings. It's what we can spend in our local economies for food, housing and all the other things people want to live well. Ideally, every month would be a Black Friday for us.
