Flax Seed Hair Gel Recipe from Marnie's WhatsUpWithRed Blog

Hi Tracey,

I attended your workshop last Friday at New Directions. I don't know if everyone would be interested in this as it's not every ones cup of tea...I have a simple recipe for flax seed hair gel, that I've been using for almost 2 years. It's so simple to make. The only thing is that some people are put off by the fact the texture is like egg whites.

I had posted the recipe on my blog awhile back. The link is http://whatsupwithred.blogspot.com/2009/09/flaxseed-hair-gel.html

I have since varied the recipe. I now add agave nectar (2 tablespoons/1 ounce)to it for a little more hold and I increase the flax seeds to 1/2 cup for the humid months. I like it because you can control the amount. Large batches can be frozen in ice cube trays.

My blog is a mixed bag of topics. If I do home remedies, I post my results, I try to keep everything on there fun, positive or informative.
