Q: I need to make hand sanitizer. I'm totally out. I have a small pump metal bottle & some lavender & eucalyptus EOs here I can add to it. (Is it 53 drops I would need in a 50 ml pump bottle per
< a href="Https://www.anarreshealth.ca/blog/how-make-safe-and-effective-hand-sanitizers"> your recipe here?
A: This is the recipe there: Hand Sanitizer Recipe Makes 150mL
Warm 75mL of filtered water.
Sprinkle on 1g xanthan gum @1/2tsp. (Guar gum may not stay gelled.)
WAIT 5 MINS... then use a hand blender to take out all the lumps.
THEN BLEND IN:
75mL aloe vera gel juice
8mL essential oil that is BOTH safe for skin and are antiviral
8mL is 160 drops. Therefore for 50mL you need 160/3 drops.I recommend more than 2 essential oils to avoid sensitization.
On requesting a black "lid".
I have black phenolic caps that cost an extra $1. Lids flip open and are available only for 24mm.
Q: On requesting a bottle with a pump instead of a cap..... unless you think it will clog.
A: All pumps and atomizers will eventually become clogged by waxes, oils and resins. If this happens, soak the pump in very hot water, dry upside down, and you may then soak the head in alcohol or vinegar to restore function. Pumping when clogged will break the pump or atomizer.
Q: (Please make for me) some alternative version to the Weleda skin food I mentioned previously.
A: I honestly don't like trying to mimic other brands' products because it requires a lot of research, and there's a good chance the customer won't like it anyhow. I need to know the qualities, performance and scent that you want.
Q: I noticed your website mentions Rachel's DIY moisturizer.** Maybe I can consider making that on my own Sep 30. I have a handheld blender I bought years ago that I haven't used yet, glass bowls, measuring cups & some spatulas. Am unsure how to transfer it from bowl to bottle.
Pour the mixture back and forth for as long as it takes for the lotion or cream to set.
Q: I don't have & would like a scale & some funnels.
I sell scales regular 5g-5000g and micro.
Funnels are easy to find at dollar and thrift stores. I do not use funnels as they easily contaminate the batch and don't help much, leading to more waste than direct pouring.
Q: Is this the glass batter bowl with lid that you've recommended before, maybe?
Yes, you can use any bowl to make lotuons in, but it's easiest to use two pots you can put directly on the stove - one for the waters, and one for the fat,s waxes and oils - preferably with a handle, but you can also just use two saucepans.
