Learn how to make your business as efficient, natural AND environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible for you.
Did you know that 79% of Canadians are more concerned about the state of the environment than they were 12 months ago?*
* According to a survey conducted by Environics Research Group (February 2012)
Learn the nitty-gritty about:
• Retailing or making your own natural cosmetics, the regulatory environment, "banned" and restricted ingredients, medications versus cosmetics, traditional vs versus "drug" claims
• When and how to give information: online, by newsletter, in brochures and cards
• How to avoid legal and other troubles with competitors - and maybe even cooperate!
We'll learn together through exercises in order to create useful tools for your business on the spot:
• Label template for your products
• Pricing formula for your products (what-the-market-will-bear versus costing methods)
• Customized statement of values for your enterprise and line of products
• Actionable steps to take to make your business as viable, as natural and as "green" as possible
Learn how to access the LOHAS market and win them over (LOHAS = Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability). PLUS Let 80% of customers choose you over your competitors just for being genuinely Green!
• Learn how to avoid Green Washing, how to spot it in your suppliers and how to focus your target market on your genuine Green values
• Learn how to connect with Green networks, groups, opportunities, stores, resources, and consumers in the GTA
As a participant, you'll leave with:
• Handouts about small business and Green resources and groups, plus info on marketing to LOHAS consumers.
• A customized statement of values for your enterprise and line of products.
• A list of actionable steps to take to make your business as viable, as natural and as "green" as possible.
• A To Do List of Green possibilities specific to your operations
Why Green Your Business?
With the growing number of companies claiming to be green and ethical, it is becoming increasingly difficult for consumers to distinguish which products are truly sustainable. To help counter this trend of 'greenwashing', I want to help you to examine various aspects of your business to minimize your impact on the environment and animals (yup, that includes humans as well). Examples of good business practices include the use of sustainable/recycled material, responsibly made products (ie. fair wages, healthy working conditions, etc.) and elimination of toxic substances.
Once you let your potential customers and clients know how you have "Greened" your practices, 80% will select you over your non-Green competitors! 20% of consumers, the LOHAS group, will even pay a premium for your services!
I attended Anarres Green Business workshop. It was my first workshop with Tracey, and certainly not my last. Tracey was very knowledgeable, professional, well spoken and inspiring! She not only gave us pages of useful information to take home but delicious food to eat as well! I am excited to participate in many more hands-on workshops at Anarres and encourage everyone else to do the same. Thank you, Tracey, for being so cool and for making the world a better place.
