FREE and inexpensive Kids and All Ages Stuff to do in Toronto
Far Enough Farm
Centre Island is also home to a petting zoo called Far Enough Farm. From the Centre Island ferry docks if you pass all the way through Centreville, the children’s amusement park, you can find the farm’s red barns in the south east corner of Centre Island.
Admission is free so just walk on in and check out the animals. At the farm you'll find a wide variety of animals including horses, donkeys, pigs, peacocks, rabbits and a whole bunch of other barnyard friends. Often you'll find the farm keeper around and you can learn more about the animals, and maybe even pet some of them too. During the summer months donkey rides for children are also offered.
Far Enough Farm is open year round making it one of the few attractions on the islands that is available from fall until spring. Something to keep in mind for your off-season visits to the islands.
PLEASE NOTE!! Far Enough Farm had been slated to close permanently at the end of June as a result of budget cuts at the City of Toronto. We launched a campaign to keep the farm open and thanks in part to your support City Council has agreed to extend funding until the end of the year. A long term solution is still unresolved and your continued support is very helpful. The operator of Centreville has generously offered to match donations from the public $1 for $1. Please click here for the Far Enough Farm campaign page for more information. We appreciate your support.
