An evening with Mark Morey.
I will have an Anarres Natural Health table there - hope to see you!
Wherever we go and ask people what is missing from their lives, the most common answer (if they are not impoverished or seriously ill) is “community.” What happened to community, and why don’t we have it any more? There are many reasons—the layout of suburbia, the disappearance of public space, the automobile and the television, and the high mobility of people and jobs.
Fortunately, deep in all of our roots, there are stories of our ancestors living in healthy, regenerative communities—villages where people of all ages were in deep relationship with the land, each other, and themselves.
Our guide to help us remember these old ways and to share how these timeless ancient principles may be applied to modern society is Mark Morey. Mark is a creative artist, visionary educator, cultural engineer, and consultant and is a well-respected expert in the international movement towards designing communities that are connected to nature.
Mark will be sharing stories, teachings from his work with innovative communities around the world, and highly inspirational examples of communities connecting to nature including some of the following topics:
The Art of mentoring
Naturalist education
Sensory awareness training
Cultural mentoring
Community building
Please join us for this special event to celebrate nature, culture and to help us build our own local resilient community.
