(Still) Introducing my new professional Ion Cleanse Detox Foot Spa
I now offer ion cleanse foot spas, as well as whirlpool foot spa and reflexology sessions. Clients who have enjoyed reflexology, detox treatments or the whirlpool foot spa asked me about the ion cleanse, and I did some research and decided to buy the one developed by detoxification pioneer Dr. Mary Staggs.
Cleansing the body of toxins is a critical step on one's path to wellness. Many people with pain, edema, gout and swollen or deteriorating joints find immediate relief after a session. Even if you are completely healthy, you can expect to feel lighter and "better" after a session. The ion foot detox technology is used for increasing vital energy, relieving arthritis, joint pain, and HIV/AIDS, diabetes, skin disorders, removing numerous toxins from the body, and improving sleep, mental focus, and the immune system.
How does it work? I use sea salt dissolved in warm water. You soak your feet in a tub of warm water for 30 min. During the session negative and positive ions are generated and absorbed and discharged through the feet. You can read a book, listen to a CD of your choice, or chat with me. The toxins drawn out of your body through your feet will gradually discolour the water, and I will be able to read the ions removed through the monitor.
Try a session of ion foot detoxification for $45! If you'd like a half hour of detoxification followed by a half hour of foot reflexology, you can have a whole hour of bliss for $60 and receive a bonus set of fizzing tub truffles - a $78 value! And best of all, buy the Ion Cleanse package of 10 sessions for only $300.

Curious? Join me for my "All About Detoxification Lab" on Thursday, September 4, 7 pm - 9 pm, drop in at Anarres Natural Health Clinic, College and Ossington. It's by donation, but please RSVP.
EMF Radiation Shields for your cell phone and other things that emit EMF Radiation
Protect yourself from the cell phone radiation emitted from the antenna of your mobile phone with the SAR Shield radiation shield. Electromagnetic radiation EMF has been proven to be harmful. SAR Shield is the only cellular radiation shield to be tested using FCC SAR testing protocols. Safety is accomplished by dissipating deadly cancer causing electromagnetic radiation by up to 89%. Eliminate the dangers today! Available for phones with and without antennas. I've priced each at $18 - normally retailing for $20 - and I will make you a deal for multiple purchases.
Incense Incense is (Still) in the Air!
I've finally gotten around to making incense using bamboo sticks and cones. These are made ethically with sandalwood powder, wood powders and natural glue. Incense is NEVER manufactured with 100% essential oils - until I came along that is! Most incenses use perfumes and dangerous fixatives. The best on the market are made with a blend of resins, gums and powders, or dipped in a solution of 67% alcohol and 33% essential oils. My incense is made with 100% essential oil blends, with all ingredients declared upfront, and burn for more than an hour per stick or cone! While I'm on a roll, this is your opportunity to request a blend of your favourite scents. I'll make a batch, sell you some, and sell the rest from the clinic! And don't forget that I sell pure frankincense resin for those who like to incense using charcoal brickettes.
Frankincense resin 100g for $5
TRUE clarifying and grounding incense 10 sticks or cones for $8.50
Lavender Bulgarian 10 sticks or cones for $5.50
Don't want to burn incense?
NEW!!! Diffuser reeds are only $2 for a set of 10. No flames, no hassle - a way to gently scent your rooms...
If you want to make your own incense, check out my workshop the week of September 22.
Exfoliating Scrub: 15 ml $4, 60 ml $10, 120 ml $13. Refills for $1-3 discount!
Made with dead sea salts, evaporated cane juice, Anarres' own lotion, and essential oils of grapefruit, lemon and cypress, this gentle scrub smooths skin, stimulates repair of capillaries and skin cells. Just scrub in circles at night and gently rinse! I ADORE making custom scrubs! Just ask...
Thanks to Baby Mind and Spirit for inviting me to write be a regular columnist for the Straight Talk section of this online Green parenting resource. 5. Bonus Article: Trust These Essential Oils for your First Aid Kit, Part 1
"Stop!" It never ceases to amaze me how people will grab essential oil samples at trade shows and sprinkle drops all over their skin before I can stop them. Perhaps they are used to perfume and fragrance oils. Perhaps they are expecting carrier oils WITH essential oils. Quite a few announce to me that they are "aromatherapists". Aromatherapists know that real essential oils are non diluted or adulterated essences of plants and are strong medicine. Only a very few are safe to use neat (undiluted) on the skin.
In this article, I will tell you how to use the safest and most useful essential oil for the whole family: did you guess it ? - lavender! At the risk of sounding like an MLM zombie, I carry lavender around with me wherever I go - in the back of the stroller to soothe bites and owies, in my purse to improve my personal fragrance and relieve my footsie troubles, in my first aid kits for burns and disinfection, and I spray it wherever mould or mildew might lurk.
Lavender: Love It or Hate It, It's the All-Purpose Essential Oil
Lavandula officinalis aka angustifolia was banned from use at the School of Holistic Studies during practical exams! Why? Because it does everything, and we were being tested on our ability to select oils for their specific function. Simply put, lavender is too easy a choice!
~ Lavender is safe to use for all people, including babies, and in the childbearing year.
~ Lavender can be put neat on the skin, but don't drink it! Essential oils should always be stored in a cool dark place out of reach of babies and children.
~ Its ability to heal burns is legendary - a few drops, and a second degree burn become a minor irritation. It soothes pain, and speeds healing of the skin tissues. It prevents infection and scarring in all wounds.
~ Lavender is not only anti bacterial - as all essential oils are - but it is also anti viral, and even more special - it is anti-fungal.
~ Lavender Bulgarian relieves pain, cramping, congestion, depression, reduces stress and anxiety and improves digestion, sleep, mood, water balance and rheumatism.
Choose 100% Bulgarian Lavender (Lavandula officinalis or angustifolia) for your home medicine chest or first aid kit, as it is the richest scent, and grown in highlands for its therapeutic properties. Lavandin and other lavenders tend to be fast growing lowland hybrids cultivated for the perfume and cosmetics industry. At Anarres, I sell real Bulgarian lavender for as little at $.25 a ml if you are a workshopper or Anarres Client! I also make a delectable Bulgarian Lavender incense ~ I can smell it drying now! ~ but that's another topic!

Join the Fall 2008 Caravan to End Canadian Involvement in Torture, Southwestern Ontario, October 17-22, 2008
"On the moral and legal level torture is democracy's ultimate antithesis. We simply cannot torture and preserve our democratic values at the same time."
-- Manfred Nowak, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture
Join my children and I in a nonviolent community on wheels for part or all of our journey as we travel through dozens of communities in a large triangular area (Toronto to Kitchener-Waterloo to London, then through Tillsonburg, Simcoe and Welland, up through Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Hamilton and Mississauga) October 17-22.
The Caravan intends to expose and challenge the many ways in which the Canadian government is increasingly involved, both directly and indirectly, in policies and practices that result in the torture of human beings. While it is possible that a federal election may be underway during our caravan, we see this as a good opportunity to challenge all parties to commit to ending ALL forms of Canadian complicity in torture.
Please consider supporting an end to Canada's involvement in torture by donating to, or joining the caravan.
