Natural Suggestion for Hemochromatosis

We hear a lot about getting enough iron, but iron toxicity is also a problem. It kills children when they overdose on iron supplements, and it may be behind many illnesses in adult and ageing males.

If you have hemochromatosis, you must also pursue conventional medical treatment.

Alongside conventional treatments such as regularly donating blood, I suggest the following:

1. DO NOT take iron or vitamin C supplements or any supplements with iron or Vitamin C.

2. DO NOT drink alcoholic beverages because they may further damage the liver.

3. DO TAKE calcium supplements, tea, and phytic acid, as is found in IP6. These are all inhibitors of iron absorption and can be used in conjunction with phlebotomy.

4. DO NOT eat citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, grapefruits) and limit your eating of potatoes and tomatoes. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption.

5. DO NOT eat shell fish or sea food. People with hemochromatosis are susceptible to infections, especially those caused by certain bacteria in raw shellfish.

6. DO NOT eat iron rich foods such as liver, red meat or iron fortified cereals.

7. DO EAT collard green, spinach and other leafy greens that contain oxalic acid in order inhibit vitamin C absorption from other foods like potatoes.

I DO recommend that you receive regular reflexology to bring energy and circulation to your organs in order to help with your condition. I offer massage and reflexology for $60 per hour, and at a discount in packages of 5 or 10. With reflexology, I am happy to teach you how to treat yourself.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns, or if I can help you in any way.
