New regulations could hinder new ExPlace Turbines

Ontario Proposes New Rules for Green Energy Projects

Under the proposed new regulations for turbine setbacks from residences (and other land uses) our current turbine would never have been permitted to be built. What’s more the two new turbines we are considering building at ExPlace could run into significant permitting problems.

One of the proposed requirements of interest to WindShare is the minimum setback rule for wind turbines:

As the proposed regulations may have a direct impact on the existing turbine at Exhibition Place - in addition to other potential wind projects on site - we encourage members to attend the information meeting, make inquiries and voice any concerns.
