You'll not only learn how to make a basic white lotion from scratch, but also how to protect yourself and your loved ones, no matter how young, from harmful sun rays, while still making and storing essential vitamine D.
You'll leave with 170ml metal pump bottle or jar of shea lotion, a 170ml pump bottle or jar of cocoa butter lotion and a 120ml jar of sun protection cream - a $38 value!!!
Make Lotions, Potions and Creams
Dread the dry, itchy skin of winter? The obnoxious fragrances and unreadable ingredients of moisturizing lotions? Want to moisturize and nourish your skin without feeling like you've been dunked in a tank of lard? Come learn to make your own lotions, for yourself, your family, and as gifts. We'll use simple, natural, vegan ingredients like wax and flower waters. You'll chose enhancing ingredients like essential oils, cocoa butter, shea butter, and calendula oil to meet individual skin needs. You'll preserve with essential oils and grapefruit seed extract instead of formaldehyde (aka DMDM Hydantoin) and other harmful ingredients. Finally, we'll package and label your creations in beautiful cobalt blue jars ($1-3) or your own re-purposed containers. You'll come away with a total of 100 ml of lotion or cream you've made, and skills that can serve you for a lifetime for a fraction of the cost of a commercial moisturizer!
Stop Sunburn Non Toxically
What's worse? The sun, or the toxins in the sunscreens? It's not an either/or situation. Regular exposure to the sun lets your skin adapt to defend itself against harmful rays, all the while making vitamin D. So tanning is a healthy response, and those who get regular exposure to the sun lower their skin cancer risk. Burning is absolutely not healthy – it clearly increases your risk of deadly skin cancer. So what to do? You'll learn everything you need to know to stay safe and select safe products for you and your loved ones.
