Tell Clorox to really come clean
This Mother's Day, take a minute to tell Clorox to stop their misleading messages to moms across the country.
Clorox advertising implies that "good moms" disinfect their homes throughout the day to keep their families safe and healthy. But our recent report Disinfectant Overkill http://www.womenandenvironment.org/campaignsandprograms/SafeCleaning/dis... revealed that not only is it unnecessary to disinfect your home everyday to keep your family healthy, but that the overuse of disinfectant chemicals is linked to serious health problems like asthma, hormonal imbalance, potential reduced fertility, and immune system problems.

Contrary to what Clorox suggests on their website, it is simply unnecessary to use a disinfectant for ordinary and routine cleaning of your house. Clorox recommends using disinfectant products for cleaning crayon off a high chair, children's toys, dirt off the floor, and many other situations where regular cleaning would suffice, increasing your child's exposure to potential harmful chemicals.
This Mother's Day, tell Clorox to really come clean.
