Aroma: Marula has a slight oily scent that can change based on the growing season and when the fruit was harvested (spring and fall).

Common Uses: Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, Marula Carrier Oil has been found to significantly improve skin hydration, softness and smoothness. It absorbs well through the skin and is excellent as a massage oil on its own or in a blend. Marula Oil has excellent oxidative stability, which makes it an ideal choice for a modern cosmetic formula. It can be used to manufacture leave-in hair treatments, scalp conditioners, hair lotions, skin moisturizing lotions, body butter, eyeshadows, lip treatments.

Description: The Marula tree is a medium-sized dioecious tree, indigenous to the Miombo woodlands of Southern and West Africa. Considered one of Africa’s botanical treasures, the Marula tree has a long history in African culture. The raw materials for the oil are harvested and pressed by community collectives of mostly women. Semi-solid at ambient temperatures, immersion in a hot-water bath will bring it to a liquid state.

Colour: Pale yellow to golden yellow stratified semi-solids.

Absorption: Absorbs easily into the skin leaving a silky smooth feel.

Shelf Life: Users can expect a shelf life of up to 2 years with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended. Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for current Best Before Date.

Storage: It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. If refrigerated, bring to room temperature before using.
