Soap: Re-Batch Milled Soap Base, Vegan Sustainable Oils
This Melt & Pour Re-batch Soap base allows you to make “Cold Process” style soap without the need to buy or use Sodium Hydroxide / Lye. Made from Sustainable Palm and Palm Kernel oils, it is available as a block of soap base that is easy to grate down and re-batch into a natural soap creation.
This base is a fantastic way to bridge the gap between melt-and-pour soap making and traditional cold process soap making. When melted, its consistency is much like that of hot process soap and it is great if you want to use delicate ingredients that, for whatever reason, do not respond well to lye.
Directions For Use: Grate the amount of soap you will be making, and put into a pot over very low heat or crock pot for melting down, with a very small amount of distilled water – do not microwave! Gently stir, and do not allow to scorch. This will not melt quickly as does M&P soap bases, or into a thin liquid, but more as a creamy paste. When it is a thick and creamy paste, stir in your additives (herbs, clays, etc.) and enhancing oils and pour into molds. Bang the filled molds a few times to get rid of any bubbles at the bottom of the molds. Allow to sit overnight before unmolding or cutting, and let the soap dry and harden for 48 hours before wrapping or using.

Caution: When making soaps, it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Soap Bases contain water as part of the formula; so if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We therefore recommend fully wrapping the soap bar as soon as it is poured, cooled and dry to minimize or eliminate any shrinkage.
