Baking Soda Free Deodorant

I love to learn how to make a baking soda free deodorant.

May I know why you don't want baking soda in your deodorant?

I will sign up for your newsletter:) in case a deodorant one comes up!

I can certainly book a deodorant workshop. I use baking soda. You can use arrowroot powder instead but it's not as effective.

People don't bother to find out why a recipe is causing reactions, including manufacturers. What I teach is evidence based, science grounded in traditional plant medicine.

Ah I am allergic and react to be baking soda so need a "recipe" without it.

Are you allergic to sea salt? The ocean?

Baking soda in deodorant makes me have a rash

It is a common reaction so I understand

allergy to baking soda is rare, and involves itching, rash, swelling, dizziness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and trouble breathing

That's why so many brands have a baking soda free option but I know that it is very effective and absorbing sweat

No anaphylactic

The common reaction is people using alkaline things regularly on their skin such as baking soda. It's a rash from disturbing the natural acidic PH of skin.

So IMO and my experience, the deodorants using baking soda are not PH balanced for the skin. The second most common reason for irritation is using too much essential oil, or using irritating essential oils.

Interesting! The one I used was scent free but had the baking soda. Either way I like to use ones baking soda free and have found some that work but want to make it myself to save money.

Thanks for the info!
