Borage Blowout! Spotlight on an Amazing Skin Ally!

Borage is hands down my favourite flower, with its strident dreamy blue, intriguing red stems, and unapologetic hairiness! Its flowers are a feast for the eyes, and for a summer salad.

Borage oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties, while rice bran oil is a great carrier oil that is light feeling, yet rich in tocopherols otherwise known as vitamine Es!. Because borage carrier oil is thick, it works best to mix it with other carrier oils. Choose a carrier as common as extra virgin olive oil that softens skin, or a self-preserving hypoallergenic oil such as jojoba Golden. You can choose any number of thinner oils according to your skin's needs.

Borage oil is especially helpful to:
* Moisturize dry skin
* Hydrate damaged skin
* Reduce inflammation
* Soothe eczema and psoriasis

Here's a simple DIY skincare serum recipe using borage oil:

In a 4oz/120mL blue glass bottle with a pump
ADD:
20mL (1 Tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon) of borage oil

ADD this synergistic blend for skin renewal:
24 drops of orange 5-fold for to brighten skin
18 drops Bulgarian lavender essential oil to improve skin tone and ease fine lines
6 drops Indian frankincense essential oil to stimulate skin cell renewal

Fill with rice bran oil (high in vitamine Es!)

Mix all ingredients in a dark glass bottle and apply a thin layer to your face and neck nightly.

Filled with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, Borage Carrier Oil is believed to be beneficial for people with atopic dermatitis. Borage Carrier Oil works to soothe itchy skin and reduce the redness caused by atopic dermatitis. The protective properties in the oil ensure the repair of vital skin tissues.

Used in hair, Borage Carrier Oil can aid in restoring strength, shine, and radiance to dry, brittle, dull, and tired hair, while promoting hair growth and fighting against hair loss. In a balm, Borage Carrier Oil works towards improving the sensitivity of joints and relieving pain caused by stiffness.

Borage oil has a high concentration of the Essential Fatty Acids needed in our body. Gamma Linoleic Acid is a type of fatty acid that our bodies convert to Prostaglandin. The oil then acts as a hormone, helping reduce inflammation related to skin diseases and cardiovascular issues.
