Juniperus oxycedrus Steam distilled from the branches & wood in Spain.

Aroma: A base note of medium aroma, Cade has an intense, smoky, tar-like, phenolic odour, often likened to old leather when blended with other essential oils.

It's important to ensure that you use only cade oil that has been rectified to remove the carcinogenic constituents.

Rectified Cade Essential Oil is generally obtained by steam distillation of the crude extraction of cade oil through destructive distillation. According to Tisserand and Young, crude (unrectified) cade oil is potentially carcinogenic due to the presence of benzopyrene and should not be used internally or externally. δ-Cadinene: 12.7%

Colour / Consistency: Clear, dark orange liquid of medium consistency.

Blends With: Cedarwood, Clove Bud, Labdanum, Origanum, Rosemary and Thyme.

Cautions: Dilute before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.
