Space for rent! .. Holistic Practitioners! Yoga Teachers! Holistic Estheticians! Hypnotherapists! Doulas! Nutritionists!

KINDRED SPIRITS WANTED!

If your practice includes a love of essential oils and natural locally made body care products, and if your ethics include respect for traditional medicines, fair trade and environmental sustainability, I'm inviting you to share my new space at:

749 Dovercourt Road at Bloor Street West is:
* Abundantly lit by three storefront window walls facing West…
* Decorated using warm natural colours such as honey, buttermilk, birch spruce and pine woods, seagrass and wicker basketry, and muslin cotton draperies
* Renovated using 94% recycled felts instead of foams, 90% recycled wood flooring, 100% recycled and milk paints, with LED and solar powered lighting.
* Powered using Bullfrog electricity, micro solar, FAR infrared zone and recovered pipe heating plus in line water heating.

LOCATION AND TTC:
Halfway between Ossington and Dufferin subway stations… just a block from the Delaware exit of Ossington station and steps north of Bloor… and at a bus stop!
Nestled between a new Churrasqueira and Toronto's only all-woman tattoo parlour, across the street from Nova Era bakery and a Jamaican patty shop…

Here is an atrocious unrepresentative photo:

The store is open. The ground floor is ready. The lower floor is in progress. If you'd like to see the space, email Tracey AT Anarres Heath DOT ca or call me at 416 262 1557.

MAIN SPACE:
The store first level is @550 sq feet.
The available space for workshops, small yoga and dance classes is @400sq ft.
There is one narrow support pole painted honey coloured like the walls off centre in the space. When not in use as a store, muslin curtains cover store shelving; counters and cabinets roll easily into storage in the kitchen lab area.

COMMON FACILITIES:
* Lower floor renovated washroom (sink, toilet, toiletries, hangers for changing)
* Ground floor kitchen (double sink, mini fridge, fixings for tea, hot plates, dish washer)
* Sound system (input jack, 2 speakers, tape, CD capable)
* Cushions for seating, tables and chairs are available for use. There is a large water purifier providing ample cool, clean water for participants in the space.
* Three portable zone heaters for use if needed.
* FAR Infrared Sauna for two, lower level, can be booked with signed waiver.

WALLS:
The wooden store shelves have a muslin panel curtain (natural unbleached cotton) pulled across them in order to provide a calmer wall appearance when not in "store mode". The walls are painted using traditional no VOC milk paint "Buttermilk Cream" http://www.homesteadhouse.ca/products/milkpaint/colours.html and low VOC recycled Boomerang paint http://www.peintureboomerang.com/en/environment in a warm honey colour.

WINDOWS: The store has three large window walls. Muslin (natural unbleached cotton) can cover the lower 6 feet for privacy so that the upper 3 feet provides natural light above the view of passers by.

LIGHTING: There is significant natural light coming through the front window walls. There are new energy efficient fixtures (and mostly new wiring!) and LED lighting throughout the spaces with some daylight fluorescent when in store mode.

FLOOR:
The floor is a red pine 90% recycled content laminate with 94% recycled content felt underlay over a ceramic & plywood floor. The floor is very well sound & cold proofed. In fact, the basement ceiling is full of uninsulated pipes so it is almost like radiant floor heating!

DECOR: The theme is natural whites and softwood (honey pine, fir, muslin etc) with red and gold accents. Rosy red and gold wall hangings and rugs add pizazz. The aesthetic is more medieval Europe & Middle East than South Asian. There is an infrared fireplace that heats the ground floor without drying the air.

The lower level has exposed brick and textured walls and is heated entirely by radiant hot water pipes. The ceilings are high and covered by draped muslin cloth.

MAIN SPACE BY THE HOUR: The main space for yoga, workshops, events and classes is available 7 days a week. Sliding scale $15-$30 an hour rental times are mornings before noon, Tues, Wed Thur evenings after 7pm and Sundays. RENTERS ARE PARTNERS IN ANARRES NATURAL HEALTH & APOTHECARY. We will co promote each other's work, share the space and facilities with enthusiasm and respect, and enjoy the natural benefits of cooperation and interdependence.

EXPECTATIONS OF RENTING PARTNERS: After you use a space, please wipe down all surfaces used including equipment, sweep the floor and damp mop if necessary. Please also check the washroom for mess, to restock bathroom tissue, clean towels etc. Monthly renters will contribute 1 solid hour of cleaning of Anarres Apothecary per month.

WHAT I MEAN BY SLIDING SCALE: I am asking for a sliding scale of $15-30 per hour using the Gift Economy principle. Please offer what the space and time are worth to you. An example: If you have used the space for $40 an hour consultation, $15 an hour is a good fit. If you have used the space to give a $120 treatment, $30 an hour is a better fit. But it is up to you to determine your offering. If your use requires me to close the store, I will also need to use my discretion about what is worthwhile for me.

WORK EXCHANGE: You may also contribute time instead of money for the use of space (subject to my discretion). Learn more about this and apply here: http://www.anarreshealth.ca/content/apprenticeship-and-work-exchange-app...

I will provide receipts when you add 13% HST; otherwise I will account for your payment as a donation.

If you'd like to see the space, you can also drop in during store hours, Tues-Sat noon to 7pm.
