The Toronto Environmental Alliance asks us to take action by January 31!!!

The Provincial Toxics Reduction Act was passed in 2009 to protect workers and neighbourhoods against exposure to toxic chemicals. Still in its infancy, the Ontario government is considering changing the Act as a result of industry pressure.

Do more research on health impacts of dioxins, furans and hexachlorobenzene before you consider any exemptions for companies that emit these harmful chemicals
All Toxics Reduction Planners should be licensed and adequately trained -- please double the training time requirement from 60 to 120 hours

The proposed changes would soften, not strengthen, toxic chemical reduction laws.

I agree with the recommendations that:

The deadline for companies to submit their toxic reduction plans not be pushed back - we can't afford to wait another year

You do more research on health impacts of dioxins, furans and hexachlorobenzene before you consider any exemptions for companies that emit these harmful chemicals

All Toxics Reduction Planners should be licensed and adequately trained -- please double the training time requirement from 60 to 120 hours
