I am bringing plates & cups.

Hi party committee,

Madelaine and Stella (YMCA childcare director) are available on October 30 so we will charge ahead and plan our little celebration for 5-6 pm on Tuesday October 30 (and as Madelaine astutely points out, we may even get more parents to stay for the parent council meeting that night).

The plan will be to invite teachers, parents and kids to drop by room 1 for nut free snacks to check out the YMCA's childcare program, meet the Y staff including the director Stella (and since she's off on Mat leave mid-October her replacement), and for parents of kids in the program to meet each other. We'll invite our superintendent (and our former superintendent Karen Falconer since the party was in fact her idea) and Madelaine can cut the ribbon to officially "open" Dewson's childcare program.

We'll need some volunteers to:

(1) decorate the room (I'm sure the kids will help with that)
(2) provide some nut free snacks
(3) provide some paper cups/napkins
(4) take some photos to commemorate the event
(5) help with cleanup

I will generate a poster (actually I'll ask Arsema if the kids would draw me one) and will ask parent council if they can advertize this on the blog as well as on their flyer for the parent council meeting. I'll send invitations to our superintendent as well as print out some invites to put in teachers' mailboxes.

Have I missed anything???? Do we need music???? Other comments/suggestions?
