Mark your calendars! CONNECT HOME: Creating Healthy Homes is an opportunity to examine the health and environmental implications of every-day choices made around the house and explore alternatives.
CONNECT HOME is also a WHEN fundraiser, building on the momentum created over the years of successful CONNECT events. Each year's event allows participants to explore the environmental and health aspects of a theme area. This year will focus on exposures we, and our children, receive from common household items, the potential health implications and introduce alternatives.
This great evening will include:
* Information displays and a chance to talk to experts about alternatives
* Hands-on demonstrations on making personal and household cleaners
* Opportunity for a complementary massage
* A silent auction filled with great items!
* Toxic household products drop-off for safe disposal and opportunities to win non-toxic alternatives
* Yummy, healthy refreshments
Confirmed speakers:
Bruce Lourie, co-author of Slow Death by Rubber Duck: How the Toxic Chemistry of Everyday Life Affects Our Health
Leslie Garrett, award-winning journalist, and author of the syndicated column The Virtuous Consumer.
