THIS SESSION INCLUDES anti-ageing cream, baby creams and sunscreens. This Advanced Lotions II class emphasizes techniques to extend shelf life and to create stable lotion and cream bases using common kitchen equipment. These bases can then be easily enhanced to create hair conditioners, medicated creams, fabric softeners, moisturizers and premium skin care products.
Conquer dry, itchy skin, ageing and blemished skin, in new and unique ways in this follow-up workshop to the popular Lotions Potions and Creams. The obnoxious fragrances and unreadable ingredients of drugstore moisturizing lotions are unnecessary - you can make fabulous formulas with all-natural effective ingredients. Make light, finely textured creams and lotions that moisturize and nourish skin without the feeling of being dunked in a tank of grease.
Come to learn to make new, customized lotions, for yourself, your family, and your clients. We'll use simple, natural, vegan ingredients like vegetable waxes and flower waters. You'll choose enhancing ingredients like essential oils, cocoa butter, shea butter, argan, tamanu, evening primrose, rosehip and calendula oil to meet individual skin needs.
You'll not only learn how to make new variations of the holistic aromatherapy classic "basic white lotion" and "basic white cream" from scratch, but also how to protect yourself and your loved ones, no matter how young, from harmful sun rays, while still making and storing essential vitamin D by using natural ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut and avocado oils.
You'll preserve with essential oils and grapefruit seed extract instead of harmful ingredients.
We will create:
• variations of Basic White Cream using ingredients like aloe vera gel juice
• Basic White Lotion using variations like sesame and coconut oils
• Eczema and psoriasis healing creams
• Lotions for skin problems of the face
• Lotions for protection from the elements
• Anti-ageing Creams
Finally, we'll package and label your creations in beautiful cobalt blue jars, metal and glass pump bottles. You'll come away with the lotions, potions and creams you've made, and skills that can serve you for a lifetime for a fraction of the cost of a quality moisturizer!

#1 cdesikan : I LOVED this class
I LOVED this class so much I would actually take yet again even though I made copious notes and learned so much. And I owe this excitement to Tracey as the instructor and her method of teaching.
I had taken a lotion making class before where the instructor had given me a recipe that I followed religiously and only took the liberty of altering the grape seed oil in it for some other oils. I never ventured outside the norm because I was afraid the cream would destabilize. That's how little I understood about creams and lotions until I took Tracey's class.
Tracey is all about developing a solid foundation. She teaches about the ingredients, why they work and what makes a lotion - what makes a stable emulsion. This class goes above and beyond teaching a base lotion. It also teaches how one can work to incorporate different ingredients to create new effective blends.
Tracey teaches the entire process, how to make it, how to stir, how to sterilize, what works and why. Knowing why is everything to me. Its the foundation. It allows us to then grow beyond and create.
After I took Tracey's class, I made so many different and exciting lotions and creams. My mother absolutely loved them. My friends and family loved them and I experimented with at least 15 different oils and another 10 different essential oils.
And the best part of it all - people said it worked and they wanted more.
I OWE this to Tracey and the way she teaches. What I appreciate most about Tracey's methods is that she works to make us self-sufficient. Tracey believes in giving knowledge, and information that makes us think, create and design. She empowers.
